2024 IRISH WATERSKI NATIONALS

Waterski Nationals at Cork Powerboat & Waterski Club

The 2024 Irish Nationals took place on the weekend of the 19th-21st July in Dripsey, Cork

The Irish Waterski Nationals is a major competitive event held annually in Ireland for the sport of waterskiing. It typically involves various categories of competition including slalom, tricks, and jump events. Participants range from juniors to seasoned professionals, and the event is usually organized by the Irish Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IrWWF), which governs the sport in Ireland.

Cork Powerboat & Waterski Cub held the Irish Nationals this year and provided the necessary facilities for competitive skiing. This was made possible with help and support from the IrWWF.

Competitors were judged by the panel below:

To participate in the Nationals, skiers often need to qualify through regional competitions or meet certain performance standards set by the IrWWF. This year’s competitors ranged from 11 years to 65+. And there were division 1 and division 2 categories.

The Nationals are a key event in the Irish waterskiing calendar, fostering a sense of community among athletes, coaches, families, and fans. It's also an opportunity to promote the sport and attract new participants. This year we had 5 girls U18 compete in Slalom & tricks. This was made possible by funding from the WIS.

“This year’s event was very special for me being chief judge for the first time”.

                                                                                                Eileen Galvin Chief Judge

On top of all that, there were some great scores with PBs and records broken. This year’s results are available at https://www.iwwfed-ea.org/classic/24IRL001/

Thanks to Sport Ireland for their continued funding and support,

The team at CPB & WSC.
